  Your child is your karma

your child and you - theory of Karma

For all of you who want to understand the mystery of life, love and relationships at a deeper level, the theory of karma is a good place to ponder. Simply put, it defines a fascinating causality of energy which rules the manifest world. By which we mean, the world that we all see and know. This causality of energy sets up patterns which rule our entire life experience. Where we are born, to whom, what happens to us, who comes into our life and who leaves etc, is all ruled by this law of causality which is like a universal order to give our world coherence and management. Ancients in India called this rule Karma.

Many of us fear this word, or at best view it with incomprehension, because we think it to mean destiny. The answer is yes and no. Destiny in terms of what will come our way but not in terms of what we cannot overcome. If you know that a storm is predicted in your area you do not immediately conclude that it means you must die. Instead, you use the information to protect and insulate yourself against the calamity. Science has today gifted you the accurate channel to protect your physical environment, the science of the spiritual does an exact thing for your inner being and helps demystify the forces which add uncertainty to your life. Entering a spiritual enquiry of your being, allows you to understand your specific purpose in this life, optimize your time on earth and maximize joy and bliss in your being and for others around you.

Karma is therefore the key to solving the mystery of your unique station in life and the lessons you need to learn and teach those in your environment. Understanding karma basically catapults you into a fascinating sphere for opening the door to your higher being, to the universal mystery of the Divine and can lead you to enlightenment.

Your children and your parents are the most coherent and intense karmic connections in your life. Reassessing them in the karmic light can help unlock the door to many of the painful questions, fears and confusions which rule these relationships. The significant word that these karmic bonds point to is love. These relationships become the centre stage where all our lessons and dramas of love are played out. Our parents help set the stage for the patterns of anger, hate, mistrust, strength, compassion, jealousy and possessiveness that we now know as our being. We are born to them because they become the first filter to create the patterns of how we will know and experience love and intimacy. They provide the continuation of the karmic (read love) lessons that we failed to complete in another lifetime.

That is why the experience of our childhood has left such deep scars and expressions which we found cruel and traumatic. The anger of that time, never really leaves us and we cover it under a host of complex adult behaviours. Understanding karma, frees you of the hate and anger towards your parents, it helps you focus on how to heal your self and rise to the challenge for opening your heart to the flood of love it is here to give and receive. Love is the only lesson, the only ecstasy which all sentient beings search with such urgency. Because love is the eternal alchemy of this fascinating mystery called creation. It is not accidental that religions are unanimous on using the word love for God.

While looking back at your parents can help you unravel much of your being, looking ahead at your children can engage you in a fascinating journey of ending negative karmas for yourself and your child. Have you not often wondered why some people have deformed, disabled and difficult children. Children who turn into addicts, murderers, terrorists and some who even die young of terrible diseases. Everyone’s heart goes out to the parents because we know that there is no suffering like that borne at the hands of your children. That is true only because the child comes as the karma that you must face. This fact is indelible!

This is not the wisdom of fear but one which offers liberation. You can turn the wheel of the karma which awaits you through your child by becoming aware of the truth of the relationship.

So before you plan your child, consider what lies ahead. Creation is waiting to manifest some critical truths through you. Everyone wants a healthy, happy, bright child. You want your child to become a rare being who brings you fame and acclaim too. You want to love it in this special way and be loved by it for the rest of your life. Everyone wants the same thing. No one in the world will say that they wished for a diseased, crazy, violent child. And yet we see enough people suffering because of their children. Is it not time you found out why? Is this just some crazy lottery draw which you have no control over? Is it not better to invest into ensuring that your child has good, positive energy? Do you seriously think that a sexual act of procreation is enough to ensure that the being who will come will be a bundle of joy and wonder in your life?

Become conscious of the great act of love, guidance, receptivity and joy that parenting withholds. Do not have a child just because you can procreate. For the soul who will then be born to you is bound to respond to you with the exact indifference that you have treated its birth with. This is the rule of karma and causality.

Welcome the unborn child as the passage of liberation for both you and the unborn soul. From the time of conception, meditate and communicate your receptivity and openness to the soul. Promise to be a good guide for its passage into adulthood when it will embark on living its own karma. Seek forgiveness for whatever pain, damage or hurt you may have caused in another life to the soul poised to emerge. The pregnancy must be treated as a time of complete and intense respect for the being lodged in its incubatory home. Surround the mother with healing and beautiful music, silent and meditative time and warmth and humour.

Use meditation and light to fill your womb with peace and love. Learn Reiki and both parents can give the womb Reiki which will ensure a light filled incubation for the baby. It will also keep the mother in good health, ensure a safe delivery and a restful infant. Most importantly your meditative efforts during pregnancy will end all the negativity of your karmic debt with the child and also make the child’s nature more restful and healthy.

This one act at the beginning of the relationship with the baby will bring such incredible rewards for the parents and the children, you will feel transformed.
